Year 8 Look at Line
For this art project, the year 8 students looked at a variety of contour lines (blind contour, pure contour, modified contour and reinforced contour). The class then practised doing portraits of their friends using blind and pure contour techniques. Using water colours, students filled in block sections of colour. They were also given the opportunity to use their skills on blending colours. To finish off, students went over their contour line drawing using permanent marker.

Year 8 revise colour while learning about line and value.
Each student had to design a series of circles and decorate each by creating a line design then colour by using a variety of shades (values) of one colour. It was a combined effort to create our collage to display our knowledge. Students took turns to roller paint the black background and then used a variety of sized brushes to paint the white tree. Coloured circles were then grouped into the 3 primary colours (red, blue, yellow) and the 3 secondary colours (violet, green, orange).
